Diary 1: Love With Mountains

Hi Everyone, love to all. I am Shubham Tripathi, an engineer by education and a digital marketer by profession. Here, I will share my life and thoughts with you all.

In my 4th year of college, my friend Ravi and I coordinated an industrial and cultural visit for our classmates. By the way, I completed my B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

In the beginning, we had to decide on a destination that all our classmates would love. I had travelled to many places alone, and Ravi, coming from an army background, had experience with various locations. However, convincing all our friends, classmates, and the department was the tough task. Finally, we selected Uttarakhand for our visit.

We decided to cover as many places as possible. We prioritized Mussoorie, Dehradun, Haridwar, and Rishikesh for the cultural visit. For the industrial visit, we chose the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), a wing of ISRO. We divided our planning into several sections: food, accommodation, travel, finances, and other logistics.

The first major challenge was obtaining permission from IIRS. The second was arranging food and accommodation in the various cities, especially since we were a group of almost 30 students and faculty. We had heard that the mountains can be expensive, and we needed to ensure the safety of our group, which included almost half girls. Safety was our top priority. Therefore, we sought help from experienced individuals familiar with mountain tourism.

Are We Human????

Source: India Today The actions taken by the police in Hyderabad were not appropriate for a democratic system. This case could have been resolved through the judicial system, and such cases should be handled within a specific timeline. While the accused could be publicly hanged, it should be done democratically. Lynching and encounters are not solutions to any problem. The government should enact stricter laws to protect girls in the country. After the Nirbhaya case in 2012, we did not learn any lessons. Thousands of rape cases have occurred since then, and hundreds of fast-track courts were established, but have we seen any results? A big NO. We must review our past actions to make our country safer for girls. I see no signs of progress. It is really disappointing that the world now sees India as the "Rape Capital." There is no single city where girls can walk alone safely at night. There are many questions to answer, but the biggest one is, who will provide th...
